anyone else seen poorer performance after this PRL or is it my phone just giving me fits. sporadic cell signal and 4g not in places it was before. having problems maintaining a data connection.

I noticed some issues with 3G connectivity (the phone not wanting to connect 3G intermittently). I noticed 4G in places there wasn't any before.

yeah, i am getting the opposite with the 4g. frowny face.

Check your PRL: Settings > About Phone > Software Information
Update your PRL: Settings > System Updates > Update PRL

Seconded

I have noticed worse network performance and didn't connect it with the PRL update until seeing this thread. Not sure if they are related but it could explain it.

No issues here. I would love to see a list of what areas were effected by this PRL (tower additions/subtractions).

Anyone come across anything like that? I remember when Alltel would do a PRL update they'd post the changes online.

in the original PRL thread alerting us to the update -- someone googled it but couldn't find much of a change log.

This is about as good as you may get...

So how would it affect you if it was not roaming.

Don't quote me, but I'll give it my best shot..

PRL is all about priorities. If you start losing signal, the phone works harder to find that signal... so if your signal drops, and the roaming is on a very low priority, the phone will work harder to find 'native' coverage - in turn draining your battery. If the roaming partner is at a higher priority then the phone would move to roam, thus not letting the battery take a major hit since the radios are not working as hard to find native coverage.

For me, 60614 was the best in Sioux Falls.. my signal would drop down, and it would go into roaming, saving my battery, but ever since 6065x and above the phone works harder to stay in native coverage, and my battery takes a major blow.

That's EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you!

Looking through the list, it looks like this PRL is made just for me :D I live in Charlottesville.

hey man i live in Lexington, like 64 miles away from you. the only issues i have had with the prl update is that i get a lot of repeat text messages. other than that i usually get 5 bars of 3G service.
