Anyone else having problems with Bluetooth audio lately?

Been pretty happy with my Nexus 6P, but a week or two ago it started having problems "streaming" audio via Bluetooth. I'm having problems both with my headset and in my car, so I think it's an issue with the phone. It either stutters like crazy (usually goes away if I press pause and play a few times) or it skips/blips a few times per minute. Seems to happen no matter what app is playing audio (including interaction with Google Now).

Anyone else having these problems? If not, I guess I'll try a reset or something...

I'm on the latest beta now, but I had the problem before i signed up and got the update as well (thought that might help...).

Not having the problems that you describe - Bluetooth seems to work fine in the car (2011 Kia Forte) for navigation purposes (although it always drops the first word or two), and music playback through an old UE Boom speaker is fine. I'm only on the 7.1.1 final release though; I decided to opt out of the Beta program when I started using the phone for work.

Ever since going to 7.1.1 I have had issues. It randomly pauses or if you notice, when you get an app notification, the sound will kinda turn itself down to let you hear the notification then bring itself back to normal again, well, I get that at random times now. I'll be on my commute home and the sound will quiet itself just like when getting a notification except there will be no notification. It will actually do this a couple of times before going back to normal.

In fact, ever since going to 7.1.1, I've experienced more issues than I'd like to admit. Phone was great prior. No issues at all.

I've started seeing all sorts of flakiness, in regard to use in my car (where it's a pain to restart the BT device), I seem to have about a 30-40% chance of it connecting now, whereas before it was more like 90% (it's never been perfect, for all the issues over all the years, I can probably count on one hand how many BT issues my WinPhones had...).

Occasionally I can force a connection, if I'm at a stoplight, and can disable BT temporarily (have to be going <5mph to access that screen on my Subaru). This seems to help maybe 25% of the time, but most times I have to shut the car off, and restart the ignition, which almost always causes the connection to succeed.

It think something in the ack-connect mechanism has gotten hosed, in the most recent patch, my guess anyway.

I'm still on an Android beta release, I guess ... Android 7.1.2 (Build NPG05F). The tech tells me that they know the betas have Bluetooth problems.
[/edit]

Every 2 months, I have the stuttering music via Bluetooth in my car (2014 Chevy Malibu LTZ with that unimpressive MyLink system Chevy uses); using mostly Google Play Music, occasionally Pandora.

Usually, a factory reset would fix the issue -- but for only about 2 months. After doing a factory reset (via Recovery) yesterday, the issue still existed. So, I did a screen-share of my phone with Google Support + phone calls with the tech (very impressed with their Support capabilities these days, btw.)

He told me about clearing the cache for the Bluetooth Share app (Settings > Apps > Menu (in the top right) > "Show system" option > then, look for the Bluetooth Share app. I cleared its data. Then, I did a factory reset (via Settings > Backup & Restore). Then, just for kicks, I cleared data for the Bluetooth Share app again before re-pairing my phone with the car. At last, audio is streaming perfectly via Bluetooth again ... until around oh ... May sometime. :-/

Not sure why you'd need to perform a Factory Reset if just clearing the Bluetooth app cache/data was all that was necessary. Conversely, not sure why you'd need to clear the app cache/data after already doing a Factory Reset - that should have taken care of it.
