I know it is supposed to be capacitive, but sometimes I hear it click and feel a little movement upon touching it.

Are you sure it's not the vibration tricking you? Mine has no movement whatsoever.

If you look at some of the tear down videos, the the finger print scanner is built into the Gorilla Glass so it shouldn't move around.

That's weird, because I notice it go down the tiniest bit when I press in a little.

I dont remember exactly where I saw it but one reviewers HTC 10 had a faulty home button that could press in (he demonstrated in the video by pushing on it with a q-tip and you could see the left side dipping down). you probably have a similar defect.

Mine does move down a little bit when I press it. In fact, I made a thread about it not too long ago.

Only the right side of the button is recesses but it doesn't affect the scanning ability. I'm gonna leave it alone for now.

Would this have detrimental long term problems?
