Anyone else see the value of the S7 in 2018?

In my country its $500, and S8 is $900. S9 $1400.

How much do you lose with the S8?

Also I HATE curved edges on the screen side. The flat screens give me grip.

Will it get Oreo though?

Most likely not. Mine has 7.0...
The last patch killed my S7, despite a couple of resets, there are all kinds of stability issues and the device has become unreliable.

My husband bought the S7 last year, he doesn't like rounded edge screen nor bigger screen at all. Here in Holland it has been confirmed that it will get Oreo later this year. The phone is working great and battery life is excellent, he does not regret his choice.

Don't know about the S7 getting Oreo. Honestly, had the Oreo beta on my S8 and didn't see much difference. Under the hood stuff mostly. My daughter just bought an S7 and is very happy with it. She especially likes the fact that it does not have the curves infinity edges.

I'm in the US and have had my S7 since Nov 2016. I'm running Nougat just fine. From what I've seen with the Oreo update, I probably will hold off as long as possible if an update comes out. I'm looking to upgrade to a S9+ this Nov anyway. Would I buy an S7 now? It would have to be super cheap. Otherwise I'd probably go with an S8 just because of the cost savings.

If I understand correctly, the S7 is supposed to get Oreo, but it will probably be August or September before it rolls out. Could be sooner for those not on Verizon, as they are notorious for being slow to roll out updates after the phone manufacturers approve the new android versions for their devices.

As far as value goes in 2018, I would say it's still worth $400-$500. It's material is good, build quality is premium, and it is still a very good performer, despite being almost 2 years old now. It's a good phone and good buy for the lower price.

On Swappa the s7 mint is selling for well under $300. The s7 is just as good as most budget phones out right now. So I say yes, the s7 is still a good buy even in 2018

Had my GS7 for almost two years no regrets... Also own the GS7 Edge. Not a fan of curved displays either with the Edge highlighting that fact.

If the price were right and I were in the market for another I'd definitely buy the GS7 again as mine has been stellar TouchWiz and all. Camera holds its own IMO too even in today's smartphone world. As for Oreo, hear it is supposed to get it but only time will tell whether that happens or not.

I paid 240 dollars for my mfr refurb late last year. The company I have been using now sells them for 180. One heck of a deal.

Is it a US company you get the refurbs from and if so, who are they? I'm hunting for one myself on Ebay where they seem to be going at or above $200.

Alltechwholesale is the name of the seller. I have bought a couple of s7s mfr refurbs in excellent condition with good luck. They were 239.99 when I bought them they are now 189.99. They do go in and out of stock rapidly. You need to watch the item and check it often to get one.

I'm embarrassed (because I have a phone addiction) to say that I bought one about a month ago so I'd have a smaller device and one I could take with me running. It's fine for what I got it for. Was $470 at Best Buy and updated to Nougat the day I got it. I'm not sure I feel it's worth what I paid given the competition but it is water resistant, has reasonable performance (by today's standards), has a decent camera, and wireless charging. I may sell it so if anyone's interested PM me.

Thanks though from what I can see all phones are B stock showing heavy wear etc. Seller refurbished doesn't mean anything to me but I appreciate the heads up. I"m watching several on Ebay that have had little if any use and look brand new.
