Anyone ever order off Wirefly? Hypothetically speaking, couldn't I...

So... hypothetically speaking...

What's keeping me from ordering off Wirefly, have them ship the phone... I buy the phone at Best Buy or Sprint store with my upgrade and then when the Wirefly one comes, I just sell it. It wouldn't be linked to my account or anything, right? To my understanding, even when the phone comes in from Wirefly, you still have to call Sprint to activate it. If you don't do that, then it's just an unlocked phone, right?

Nothing is stopping you but be assured that you will be billed full price unless you keep the respective lines active.

How would they charge me full price?

Step by step:
1.) Order off wirefly for $149.99 all they do is check if I'm eligible for ugprade
2.) Once it has shipped from wirefly, I go to Best Buy and buy a phone from them with my upgrade (it would still be eligible since I haven't activated anything yet)
3.) Use the phone from Best Buy for a while and then when the phone from wirefly arrives, I'd just sell it to someone on Craiglist for $400-$500 unlocked

your upgrade will be used by wirefly even though its not activated you wont be able to upgrade twice

A couple holes in this plan:
1. Your account would no longer be upgrade eligible once you bought the phone from Wirefly. It doesn't matter that you haven't called into Sprint yet to activate the service.
2. Wirefly's TOS include verbage saying they can and will charge you extra (usually about $400) if you try to pull this sort of stunt. They can tell when/if the phone is activated and what the account it is on is.

Op all your purchases are tied to your account.

Once you place the order with Wirefly your upgrade is gone.

But stop trying to be a thief anyway.

So... let's just say I checked with Best Buy and Sprint online and it says my upgrade is still eligible...

It would still be theft. You aren't going to get anyone here to support your doing it, so may as well stop fishing. People taking advantage of something like that is what ruins things for the average joe. I guarantee you if you do it, you will end up paying full price for one of the two in the end.

LOL go ahead and try it and see what happens. Sprint will have to approve your upgrade before anyone releases a phone to you. So chances are Sprint will have already see one go through and won't approve another. But go ahead and try.

This is correct! Sprint will not allow you to upgrade the same number twice with 2 different retailers. Once your number is "upgraded" in the system by a retailer, your Sprint account is noted. Let me know if you have any questions.
