i am trying to backup my dx and want to put it on my gn but the gn doesnt have a sd card so whats the easiest to back up photos/texts/apps etc from dx and switch to gn and how to do it would be extremely helpful

you can always backup to the sd card, transfer it to a computer than transfer to the GN.

or you could just back it up to the cloud, which mybackup pro allows.

Anything Gmail related -- including contacts -- is already backed up.

There are already a lot of backup features built into ICS:

If you open settings > personal > backup & reset. Wi-Fi passwords, browser bookmarks, a list of the apps you’ve installed from the Market app, the words you’ve added to the dictionary used by the onscreen keyboard, and customized settings any setting you changed from its default in the settings menu.

There are a variety of free options in the market for backing up SMS messages and call logs as well: https://market.android.com/search?q=backup&so=1&c=apps.

Also, a lot of apps have backup options in their settings, so when you do restore you will be able to quickly recover. My Backup Pro will not do this unless you are rooted.

Hey Cory,
I usually have no issues with my apps auto downloading when I log into my Google account on a newly loaded phone but for some reason once I got my Nexus up and running today and syncing, everything sync except my apps! When I went to my apps it only showed my purchased apps, but none of the others. I've loaded numerous other phones that auto downloaded my 40+ apps but for some reason this ICS Nexus didn't.

Any idea why?

Thanks!

I'm thinking it's a ics thing. Not all apps will play nice so why auto load them all. I think this is one reason they didn't put in a sd card. That way you can't easily restore a backup from an older phone. One way to cheat is to go to https://market.android.com/ you can click on my library/apps and push them to your phone.
