Anyone get one of these yet?

I was checking them out in BB earlier today (was looking for a Transformer Prime), and they weren't bad. The one thing about the Acer tablets I've noticed was that it seemed kinda thick by comparison to the Sony/Samsung/Asus tabs. I know the Asus is tapered near the edges so it looks thinner, but the A200 just looked really thick and chunky. That was a bit of a turnoff, but otherwise it looked pretty decent.

got one today at bb.i did take back a prime for me i just dont think prime at 150dollars more is worth it.Again thats just my thought.
Acer is thicker but it feel very sturdy

From the hands-on video posted here on AC, it has a proprietary power plug. I assume that means no charging via USB.

That's one of the things I keep sitting on the fence about. I want a Prime because it's the newest tech and should (in theory) have a longer shelf life from now. I like the price of the A200, but I'd like to think that if I were going with the Tegra 2 technology I'd go with something either thinner (Galaxy) or more full-featured (original Transformer). But then I have to ask if it's worth $50-$100 more than the A200 for something only slightly better.

To me gaming is not important,I use more to watch movies, music, docs and PDF and browsing so I think it could be OK for me. My friend as a Toshiba thrive and the screen does not look to good in my opinion, is the A200 having a better screen? I have a hptouchpad and I would considering getting one only if of course the A200 is better overall. What do u think guys?

it will not charge thru USB.

Good HP question I have a touch pad and really like it I just also wanted a Android Tab and with the acer a200 getting Ice cream sandwich next month I think I be happy.

Acer is fairly thick I think mainly cause it hasa full USB port.

I just got back from Staples with one of these. Pretty darn slick. I also tried charging through USB and definitely doesn't charge that way. A bit of a disappointment as I have a couple micro USB chargers I'd have been happy to use even if it charges slower that way. OH well, life goes on.

Is the weird green button on the status bar a default Honeycomb widget or something that Acer added in? I like that it allows taking screenshots. The front-facing camera isn't bad for what it'll be used for - skype and whatnot. The interface is pretty smooth, other than the app drawer with its transparent background is kind of laggy.

For $350, I'm very pleased. I could use one in store and compare to the Samsung Galaxy Tab, which they have for $500, and I can't say I'm making too many trade-offs by giving up the rear-facing camera and picking up a little extra thickness/weight.

I just picked one up yesterday. The quality for the price is extremely accepatble. I had the Xoom when it first came out. And I paid almost $600 for it. This one is half the price and just about spot on the same quality. Minus the Camera on the back and HDMI. But Still, for the price. This isnt a cheap quality tablet it all. Im very pleased.

I've had this tablet for less than a week and I love it. It doesn't feel cheap at all. I load up items on my usb and have access to them on this tablet which is great for work. I definitely recommend.

I just picked one up at BestBuy for $299.99. They matched my local Microcenter, which was out of stock. I'm not sure, but I think I overhead the manager whisper to the associate to give it to him for $299 because that is the sale price next week. FYI - BostonDan

I returned my Prime for the Acer A200. I received one of many defective units Asus is shipping. Basically, the wifi throughput dropped down to painful when 20 feet from the router (going through 2 walls). My I-Touch had better bandwidth. It turned out to be a known problem with the Prime, the 'pogo-pins' which are used for the antenna connection are not reliable. I was lucky that I found this out early. Others bumped their device and had wifi bandwidth go to crap. There is a good YouTube video which shows someone having to pinch pressure points to get the wifi to work, however it didn't look like a long term fix. Good Luck

I picked up an A200 at Staples last week for $245 out the door. They were supposed to hold an A500 for me, but when I got to the store it was water damaged. They gave me the A200 for the A500 price at $279.00 plus I had a $50 off clearance tablets coupon, so I paid $229.00 + tax. I think $350 is a good price for this tablet. It's not the thinnest tablet on the market but for the options it does have I definitely think it's worth $350. Some might complain about not having a rear-facing camera, but how many times are you going to rely on a 2.0 mp camera to take a good picture? It also has a full usb which is nice so I can just plug in a jump drive with any movies or music and transfer them over. For my use, this tablet ROCKS for $245.00 but is still great at $350.00

Staples has the 16gb A200 on sale right now for 330$. Picked one up last night after going in for a Galaxy and comparing them side by side. A tablet wasn't something I really needed, it was more of a novelty at this point. Somethng to browse the net and read emails while on the road. Upgraded to ICS last night and created a wi-fi hotspot on my 4G phone, connected up the tablet and am very happy with it so far.

I got mine 2 days ago at best buy. Waited for it to ship in, as I did the research and felt it was worth the wait. Im on day 2 of usage and love it so far. This is what ive fond so far:

Pro's: $$ cost effective, Fast, great reactivity, love the screen & output, very happy so far. Expandable memory.
Con's: I can't get my iMac to recognize the tablet for transferring music via Doubletwist. (But I can't tell if this is a mac issue or tablet issue yet). So I just decided to use google music in the event the iTunes/Doubletwist combo is a pain. (https://music.google.com)

My friend has an iPad 2, very closed up operations for my taste. Boring!

I am very happy thus far! : )
