Went I pre-ordered my S3 I got a $130 discount. I have no idea if it some sort of promotion or what as I have not seen anyone anywhere else talking about getting the S3 for this price.

I almost ordered the nexus and at that time I was offered a $30 discount for returning customer but this time around I got $130 discount when I went to check out.

I got the 32 GB S3 for $130 ($100 + $30 upgrade fee) when I ordered it on the 6th. But I had my last NE2 discount and I also got an additional $100 discount that I didn't question when placing the order. Though, after researching it, I saw some reports of a promo for the main line for upgrading from a 3G to 4G phone. I was hoping my wife's line was going to get the discount as well when we were allowed to upgrade her line on the 11th, but no such luck.

From what I read here when people first started pre-ordering, people on family plans eligible for NE2 got bigger upgrade discounts, but only on the main line (I have a single line and only got $30 upgrade for my NE2). Also, there were some regional promotional discounts available.

Lucky duck. I was way past due for an upgrade, but I'm not the primary account holder. I'm on a family plan and my sister's the primary.

Oh well. I still got a new phone for decent money. Better than T-Mo is doing for their people.

I think that is exactly what it must be. I got an email a few months back stating that but could not see any reference to it on there site so I just ignored it.

nope - I upgraded from 3g to 4 g and only got a $30 upgrade for my NE2. People with family plans got a larger upgrade, and there were some regional promotions.

The 3g to 4g promotion I saw was for Motorola.

Verizon rep (an official one, one that actually calls you when you email support) told me I would be better off ordering off the website and that would guarantee my $100 S3 as the individual stores may not honor all the discounts. She also said this would only be a valid offer until June 28th which makes sense.

After going back and forth with VZW customer service on randomly cancelled orders I got my S3 for $36 total... as long as the order doesn't cancel and I don't receive the phone that is. Much better than the not one penny discount I had with the original order.

I will end up paying a whopping total of $10. I added a line for $9.99 for 24 months which is $240. The device is $250 for a total of $490. Since I added the line, I get a $40 credit for twelve months, which equals $480. Minus plan/device of $490 leaves me out roughly 10 bucks. Not a bad deal. :D

And no, I didn't have to add a data plan to the extra line. :D

Can you tell me what the promo was for the Add a Line at $9.99 and then get a $40 monthly credit? I've seen some screwey marketing ideas but this just makes little sense. VZW will give you $40 off the bill if you agree to give them $9.99? I need to get something done in the next few days to keep the unlimited data plan so this is not just a random question.

To be honest, I didn't question it. They did mention some sort of "loyalty" type discount though. The rep looked over my account and said I was eligible. Pretty easy decision for me.

I used my sons upgrade when i pre-ordered and got a 32GB for $149.99. He's not the main account number, my wife is, so I don't know why I got the discount but I'm not complaining...:)
