Anyone had their Nexus turn off in their pocket?

This happened to me twice today. I pulled the phone out of my pocket to find that it was powered off. Anyone else had this happen? I did drop it once if that can cause any issues.

The strangest thing I've had happen is my phone dialing out to *22899 for service update randomly, haven't had it turn off or reboot on me yet.

Mine rebooted and did the *22899 thing on me the first day I had it. It was fine and the it rebooted 3 times today. I think it might have something to do with the LTE radio. I was using Navigation the first 2 times amd Pandora the last. I think it may have lost 4G each time and didn't switch to 3G. I am going to keep it 3G only for a few days and see what happens.

I'm only on 3g in my area, 4g is about 10 minutes south of my house. I'll keep an eye to see if this happens again (or when I go down to 4g later in the week to see if it reboots).

Only all the time. It's annoying but you can still use the hardware buttons when the screen is locked. So if your power button is pressed (or held) the device will power down. You've probably noticed that even when the screen is locked you can access the menu button and get out of the lock screen. I wonder if I put in a pin if that would fix the issue. Do you have a pin on it?

Hey , i got a Nexus S... Since i update to CM9 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 my phone power off by itself.

First it power off all by itself. But lately it has been pretty stable, except when i put it in my pocket and i have to move for some place, when i go to check the phone and try to unlock i can't, is power off!!! :(

It seems very weird.

I've tried:
1. to underclock to 800MHZ. (Apparently this helped so much)
2. get the 4.0.4 update
3. not installed stuff
4. and finally ( i'm still checking how it goes) change the lock option slide to pin. I'll see what happens.. But i don't think it has to do with it.

Any comment that help is welcome... Thnks

The reboot issues seem to be an ics issue as the asus transformer prime is doing the same thing as well as the htc vivid which received the ics update in the last couple weeks.

I have a pin on mine, and the menu still pops up. Just for silent, airplane(I think), and power off. Also haven't noticed it turn off in pocket, but it does shut down on me when I get a text, and phone call while browsing. Had it shut down I think due to heat too.

I hate to show my ignorance, but I have to ask - what do you mean by "a pin on mine"? Are you talking about literally sticking a pin in the switch?

Just mean I need to enter my pin on the lock screen to unlock it. Don't hurt to ask questions. :)

Happened to me twice in the last week. I had rabdomvreboots months ago too, but my GNex hasn't had a random reboot or shut down since maybe January. It was running like crap late last week, but now things are back to normal. Might have been something happening server side.
