So I'm running vicious jelly bean v2 which was installed through Rom manager. Been having troubles downloading Roms both from Rom manager and the web and putting them on my sd card ever since. Also having problems restoring backups. Just wondering if I'm the only one or maybe jelly bean was causing the problem.

Let me clarify. When I say downloading Roms I actually mean flashing lol

you clear data, cache, and dalvik in rom manager? i never flash with rm, always do it manually in cwm. if you can get a rom to download correctly on your cpu, try moving it to your sd card with mtp connection. if that doesnt work, i can instruct you on how to push the rom to your sd card with adb.

when in cwm flashing a rom - wipe data, format /system, clear cache partition, clear dalvik cache, flash rom, flash gapps, reboot, wait a few min for kernel to settle, and sign in.

Ok so trying to get into cwm lead me to the android guy saying downloading please do not turn off and my only option was a giant start option. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't use RM. It totally messed my phone up when I flashed JB ( no signal issue) I would flash the old way. I will never use again....

If you lost cwm you may have to use wugs tool kit to fix. Its a great program to use. Makes it crazy easy to fix about any issue. When I flashed from RM I lost signal/root and cwm. Had to flash stock with wugs and reroot. If you lost cwm and root. Wugs toolkit is your fix. Good luck and keep on flashing. Flashing JB is the first time I felt apples time was up. Great job by the big G.

I am having a weird issue with Clockwork - Rom Backup . I tried it twice now and it says" Can't mount backup path. unknown volume for path /emmc/clockworkmod/backup/2012-07-10-20.56.48"

Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

I was able to get into cwm from Rom manager. For some reason powering down and holding the power button along with the volume keys sent me into Odin. New one on me. Maybe my buttons are getting wore out....

Vol down and power takes you to Odin, both vol and power goes to boot loader where you can scroll with vol keys to recovery and select it with power

How is V5? Better than Jelly Belly 3.1?

I rebooted several times to make sure I was mashing all correct buttons which leads me to believe something is wearing out. Even had trouble just holding the power button to turn it back on.

Haven't done a jelly belly yet. I will say I think I'll stay with V5 for awhile. Me likey very much.

I did that the first time with this phone lol. But as far as ROM manager goes, I use it sometimes. Never had issues with it. But its good to know how to use cwm and a ADB as well.
Edit: only issue with RM I've been having is finding ROMs I've downloaded through RM in cwm. Only has happened with JB roms so far.

If you boot into recovery you should be able to flash it. Hold both vol buttons and power. Then where it shows a robot hit vol down till it says recovery. Press power to boot into recovery. From there clear the cache, factory reset, and clear the dalvik. Two of them are right on the first screen and one is in the advanced section. Same controls here, vol buttons move you up and down and power selects. It can be tricky too, sometimes it acts as if the button sticks. Don't remember which one there, it think dalvik. After that go to flash or install zip from SD card. If you downloaded the ROM on your phone it should be in downloads file. If not look wherever you placed it. Then flash away. Once it installs go back to the main screen and press reboot system now.

I have had issues with not being able to find the ROM I downloaded with RM already. So I would look to see if you find it before clearing data and caches. And as always make a backup first, which you can do in recovery as well.
