Anyone in UK done the Samsung trade-in offer?

Hi.

I'm in the last few days of my 2 year contract with a S7. I want to get out the 2 year cycle if I can so was originally going to buy a One Plus 6 sim free for £469.

But Samsung are offering a competitive trade in where I could get £250 for my S7 making an S9 £489. This seems like a no brainer getting a flagship phone for that price.

Was just wondering if anybody has any experience with this deal in the UK? Did it all work OK. My S7 is in good condition so as long as Samsung do their bit it should be OK.

Sounds like a GREAT deal. They are giving you more than what the phone goes for on the open market. I'm not 100% sure on the conversion rate, BUT on S7 the average cost is just under 250 US, and I know the pound is worth more than our dollar. Ok I got curious and googled it, 250 pounds is 334 US, and the S7s on Swappa are not going for that much!

Yeah in the UK you can buy a brand new S7 for £300 from Amazon so to get £250 for my 2 year old one seems like a crazy good deal. Plus it just makes it nearly impossible to say no to an S9 at that price (it wasn't really on my radar for potential new phone until I saw this deal).

While I did not have the S9, I'm sure it's a great phone. I DID have both an S8 and a Note8 both of which I loved.

Dam good price that, the s7edge goes for about that on ebay. I got £220 for mine which is kinda average.

Just traded in my iphone 7 32gb. Got £350 off an s9 64gb, which is already discounted by £100. I ended up paying £289 for a brand new s9. All I have to do now is reset the iphone and send it off in the pre paid package.
Result !

Yep, I did it for the first time on S9+ Launch, don't think i got much more for my S7 back then, so good deal fo ryou plus i think you can get a new phone every year with this deal

I was offered £120 for my pristine S7E ( not even a year old ) by Carphone Warehouse against an S9, i politely declined the offer and decided to try going straight to Samsung, they had a promotion running with £100 off the S9 if bought direct and they also offered trade in, so i entered the IMEI from the S7E and was given £200 trade in

i bought the S9 for just £439 with the discount and trade in on a Saturday evening and it was delivered Monday, the freepost packaging to return my S7E arrived the next day which i promptly posted and two days later i had an email confirming they had received it and the trade in was complete

i can only say that the Samsung trade in deal worked out well for me and the whole process was quick and painless,PS i am loving the S9.

The UK trade-in pays more than the US trade-in in some cases and seems more open about the end result (the US offer has a bunch of ways to hose you).

Canada has a loose set of requirements where you can trade in anything and get a minimum of 200 + trade-in value, so a potato (Symbian) gets you $200!

For the most part the UK offer seems the best, most of the time (give versus get), the US offer more restrictive with a chance of getting more and a better chance of getting less with the Canadian offer being the lowest but most open for what they will accept.

Yes, and I feel scammed. Samsung Technical store said my wife's S6 battery was good for another year, but we decided to upgrade to an S8 with £100 trade in, even though the S6 was in great condition.

Surprise, surprise, a few days later Samsung email me saying the battery is faulty and demanded another £25.

Total con. Why weren't they just honest in the first place and say they only pay £75 for an S6 trade in?

S8 going back if they don't change their minds.
