Anyone interested in this over a Wi-Fi only HTC Flyer?

I am very interested! why on earth would I want to pay extra for a limited data plan for my tablet when I already have unlimited data to tether off of my phone????

??? If you buy the wifi only flyer then you will be able to tether with your phone , you don't really need the View 4G to do that...

I am interested , I want a 4G tab , its good for my business when we are outside working...

I want a 4G tab as well... I can dump my ****ty overdrive, and my iPad... Just run this and a nice simple nokia for phone calls... Could be the solution to simplify my life...

I wanna pay the relatively cheap data plan, drop my phone, and do all my calls thorugh VOIP and all my texts through google voice.

This will be my giant, awesome new phone.

PS. does anyone know if there is a part of the tablet that will hold the scribe pen when not in use? This is almost a deal breaker for me.

I do this with my Tab. Love it

The whole point of a tablet is fast convenience, if I have to setup tethering every time I want to pull it out on the go then why not just stick to a smartphone? In the time it takes to get all that setup I can probably have found what I needed on my smartphone. That and it'll drain my smartphone battery even faster instead of the opposite which is allowing me to get better battery life to devote to calls (I don't waste batter doing smartphone thingies). I had a Galaxy Tab 7" previously and absolutely loved that it was always connected. So the cell radio is pretty much the reason I would specifically want this, the problem though is so far I am not impressed with the price. I wish more tablets had the cell option (asus transformer).

have to agree with oldpueblo. I am currently using an iPad and an Overdrive and I am really looking to simplify. To be online without jumping through hoops and making sure both devices are charged would be lovely.

The smaller form factor is also really appealing.

Actually, I would rather have a 7" EVO phone instead of a 4.3 EVO phone with 2-3500mAh batteries...hence the name "BigFace". Is there an app for that?

Not on the table -- it's lines are pretty smooth. But the Sprint leather case has a nice pocket to hold the scribe and I see a number of cases arriving, some for the Flyer, with pockets or pen holders.

I like my connected View. It may not be practical as a phone, but it's great for texting, which is hard to do without dialer connectivity.

I spend a lot of time in my truck. Even dash mounted and with speech to text (that I am using to dictate this), a 4 inch screen is too small to look at while driving. A 10 inch screen is too big to dash mount. Two Samsung Galaxy tablets did not multitask well.

I'm not ready to root my phone yet, so I turned on Sprint Hotspot, returned the Galaxy tab and bought an HTC Flyer. Google Navigation would be guiding me to an address, the phone would ring, and I would be driving around in circles. I got really lucky that Best Buy allowed me to return the Flyer at 29 days.

My choice was a MiFi device or the HTC EVO View 4g. (MiFi plans are pretty expensive, and you have to carry the thing around.). At 35 dollars a month, the 3 gb data plan is only 5 dollars a month more than it cost me to turn on Sprint Hotspot. I used the heck out of the Flyer and did not even come close to using 2 gb of data the month I had it.

This reply was dictated using a wired headset and the microphone button on the HTC EVO View (and a little help manually correcting capitilization, etc.).

Is that the only difference between the two?

The Samsung Galaxy tab only has a 1 gigabyte processor, 512 k of working memory, 16 gigabytes for programs and data storage, and no sd card slot.

The HTC EVO View has a 1.5 gigabyte processor, 1 gigabyte of working memory, 32 gigabytes for programs and data storage, and will take a 32 gigabyte sd card. And it has the ability to write on the screen with the included pen.

Having said that, I think the Samsung Galaxy tab has a better screen. It will connect to a bluetooth headset for dictating text like I am doing now (but with a wired headset on the HTC EVO View). But I had to take two Samsung Galaxy tabs back because I repeatedly crashed them by multitasking.

Now that the Flyer is $299, this is an even tougher question. With contract, the total price of the View ($399) plus the 2 year at $45 for 3g-3gb/4g-unlimited, brings the (not so) grand total to $1,479.
