Anyone know how to fix a memory leak in the Mail App?

I have narrowed down the culprit for my "Phone Storage Getting Low" error message to the "Mail (HTC Corporation)" App.

I started getting the error yesterday, I've wiped and reinstalled everything a few times now and I see under "Manage Applications" that the Mail App is now upto 94MB. I just reinstalled everything a couple of hours ago. Just maybe half an hour ago it was at 72MB. Everything was synced and up to date about two hours ago so no new message have been downloaded or added. I even have the attachment cache saving on "Internal Storage" instead of "Phone Storage" for all accounts.

WTF???

Update: Just went up to 105MB since last post!! Ugh... Help!

I can help: don't use the stock app. K9 (among others) works better without any headaches.

I thought this was a problem caused by the Facebook app causing multiple contact files that get stored in your email memory
