Anyone made the jump from a 1+3 to the 1+5?

I've had my 1+3 for almost 6 months and I really enjoy it. Has anyone moved from the 3 to the 5 and is it worth it?

Yup.

Value is subjective... In performance terms it's better than the 3. But not to the extent that it would be worth upgrading for most people. But I just wanted the best specs...

The big difference is in battery life, I get at least double the screen on time I did on the 3. I also like having a vibrator that I can actually feel (PHRASING!).

The other concern is updates... Oneplus say they'll keep the 3 up to date, but I don't really believe them.

Have you had any of the display issues people seem to be all up in arms about?

No. At least, not that I've noticed.

I suspect the whole thing may have been blown a little out of proportion...

I "upgraded" from OP3 to OP5. Definitely happy with the device. No Display issue for me.

Things I like and notice that are better on the OP5 vs OP3:
- Camera
- Overall Phone performance
- Battery life (Yes, comparing 3300 vs 3000)
- WiFi has no issue of random disconnections
- Bluetooth through my car's Bluetooth kit (Parrot CK3001) sounds a lot louder than than it did on the OP3 on phone calls.
- No random reboots
- Vibration is a lot stronger for sure. especially when the phone is in either my side or back pocket
- Vibration intensity option in the settings menu.

Things I liked and noticed that are better on the OP3 vs OP5:
- Display richness. No matter how I configure my OP5 display settings, I cant get it to be as warm and as rich as the OP3 for some reason. Either looks too warm or too cool.
- (EDIT) forgot to mention, adaptive display is faster to "adapt" to light changes on the OP3. On the OP5 there's a bit of a delay, especially when taking it out of my pocket when in the bright sun light.

To me, the camera and battery were definitely worth the upgrade. But also because I was able to sell my OP3 at a fairly good price to justify spending the extra for the OP5. overall, very happy with the purchase.

Good luck and hope that helps.

Glad you asked & thanks to everyone for responding. My wife's phone is starting to give charging issues (Asus Zenfone 2) & thinking of getting the OP5 for me and her inheriting the OP3. She" doesn't care what she has as long as it works right "
Thanks again and look forward to more reply
