Anyone one running - ROM | InfectedROM Eternity? TB Sense 3.5

I've noticed a lot of videos have different Infected Tweak screens than I do. Take this video for instance (3:20 mark):

So I don't know if I'm working w/ an older version, newer version, partial version..... this is my first ROM so I don't know. I know I didn't receive any of their developed wallpapers that are supposed to come (or so I thought but it's not like I care)...... so I'm confused haha

Nice! It worked a little bit and had made it a little more responsive but not instantaneous. I don't know what to expect in terms of speed but it's gotten better.

If I have time, I'll load it up later and see how fast the quick launch apps respond for me. Which governor did you decide on?

I loaded up this ROM and checked the load speed of the lockscreen apps. To be honest, they loaded up in around a second, and I didn't notice any significant lag like you experienced. However, I did experience a ton of lag with the ROM itself, but I might have an old version (not sure). Also, it seems like it only has the "Lagfree" governor, which isn't one of my favorites. If you went with NoFrills CPU Control, make sure it holds your settings.

Funny thing is, ever since I got home, after I downloaded that app, my phone won't turn on. I took out the battery and it turned on. It gets through majority of the boot-up process then it bricks. I got just enough time to uninstall that, wiped my cache via the power button and volume down button, rebooted and same behavior. Do I need to do a factory reset? I received a picture message apparently also so I'm not sure what happened or what to do. My phone won't turn on right now.... I've read some ROMs don't work well w/ MMS but I figured that bug would be out of this ROM by now...

Should I just do a factory reset?

Yeah, it sounds like you're gonna have to unfortunately. Did SetCPU cause the problem or the other one?

Actually, this sounds like a good time to try another ROM. :D

No Frills is what I DLed. I would use another ROM if I could turn my phone on haha. I'm guessing just factory reset then reboot back into Infected? After I get it back up and running, I'm going to look into others that are more stable. Skyraider Zeus has been getting good reviews and others, like you, have told me to use Thundershed.

Yeah, I would just do a complete wipe, and then either restore Infected Eternity or reflash it. I like both Skyraider and Tshed, so you can't really go wrong.

I have had issues with no frills, so if you can spare the money, you might want to grab the other.

I just hate paying for apps hahaha. Pretty much a big reason why I'll never go the Apple route.... and for reasons of flashing and widgets but that's another story.

Regardless, this was a solid learning experience in case I ever do brick my phone again. Everything is restoring smoothly. Which would you suggest in terms of what I'm looking for between Skyraider and TShed? I am a fan of the Sense 3.5 but then again, I don't know what other options are out there. I know there are some ROMs based on Go but I used Go before and it's what was killing my battery. What other types are out there?

Agian, thanks a bleepload for the help in getting my phone back up and running.

Skyraider is a Sense 2.1 ROM so it will be very familiar to you. It has plenty of tweaks, customizations, themes, and mods, and it runs very smootly with little to no issues. Thundershed is an AOSP CM 7.2 ROM, so it will seem very unfamiliar at first, but I think the more you use it, the better you'll like it. For me, it's as close to a perfect ROM as I've used. As for GO Launcher, I'm not the biggest fan either, but I do like ADW Launcher EX (but you'd have to pay for it. The free version is crap.) and even Holo Launcher. Both of those can be installed and replace GO. As for battery life, I use my phone all day, overclocked to 368 min, 1190 max, using the performance governor, and I easily get through an entire day. Right now, I'm at 45%, and I don't remember the last time it dropped below 30% (extended battery of course). However, it's not which ROM is right for me, it's which one is right for you, so I'd try out a few and see which one you like the best.

If you flash TShed, let it load, reboot to recovery and flash the Google Apps from Workshed's thread, flash the agps fix, and then reboot. It may sound like a lot, but it's really not.

Thundershed sounds good. I always worried about Go b/c I had BadAss battery or whatever it is on my old phone and it always showed Go Locker and Launcher as using majority of my battery which is the main reason I rooted. Infected might not be the quickest but the battery life is phenomenal. I think I might have to give TShed a shot though. Gotta find that thread w/ the GPS fixes. So you're telling me i need to flash the ROM, then reboot into Recovery and flash the agps.zip file next the same way I'd flash a ROM? Doesn't seem too difficult or like it's too much. I'm looking at some videos for it now though. Seems like a nice ROM and I've liked some screenshots Google has showed me. Rootzwiki just gave me a ridiculous way to get the GPS to work though... not too important to me as I always have one in my car but is that the only major known issue w/ 1.6?

The only other problem I know of is that some people have had problems with their music stuttering. I overclocked, like we've already discussed, and changed to the performance governor, and I never experience the stutter. If you do, there are other kernels you can flash that will fix the problem. Either way, it's not a big deal.

Here's the link for the agps fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32178770

When you flash, just don't flash the Gapps and agps at the same time as the ROM. ROM first, reboot, flash the others.

I'm running it and like it alot. It is fast and has a lot more you can do to customize it. I have seen an improvement on the battery life as well. I have run a few other roms including CM7 and SOAB and still like Eternity more.
