I'm seeing this same message all of the time on my HTC Evo LTE (Sprint).
I'm using the charging block and cord that came with the phone.
When I had this issue before, I went to my local Sprint store and they determined that I had may have a defective charging block.
The charging block was exchanged and that seemed to clear up the issue... for about a month.
My real issue is that my phone WON'T CHARGE when the battery is 'overheating'.
The battery temp always reads between -20.0C and -0.1C when the Sprint Zone app tells me that the battery is 'overheating' and WON'T CHARGE at all until the temp gets ABOVE 0.0C.
I just get the flashing orange-green LED (indicating that the phone is overheating) instead of the solid orange LED indicating that the phone is charging.
I've read on some forums that some users have had to wipe the phone and do a factory reset to clear up this problem.
I've also seen a 'how-to' video on YouTube showing that the (non-removable) battery in the HTC Evo LTE CAN BE REPLACED.
I'm thinking that I may start with the factory reset and hope for the best results.
As of now, I have been running on a battery with less than 15% power for days because the phone quits charging just minutes after I plug in.
I try closing all apps in the background, blutooth is OFF and I even switch into 'Airplane Mode'.
(... a number of times I've even put the phone into the refrigerator for a few minutes, which seemed to help a few times).
The point is, I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO THIS to get my phone to charge.
Does anyone even know if a factory reset will alleviate this problem, or should I just replace the (non-removable) battery, as this could just be a defective battery?
Open to any other suggestions / input from other users of this phone.
(Other than this battery issue over the past month and a half, I still love this phone).
