Anyone settle with the regular P6?

I was going to pick up a Google Pixel 6 Pro for a Christmas present, however there are none to be had through my carrier here in Canada. When I did call Bell directly, they said "we have over 400 of the regular Pixel 6's, but the 6 Pro doesn't even come up in our database. Maybe try the store levels."

I was just curious if anyone else has compromised and went with the regular P6 over the Pro?

I was looking at a website comparing the two. There are some subtle differences and of course the telephoto lens on the P6 Pro. I don't think it would be enough of deal breaker. And honestly, the P6 basic optimal zoom did stand up pretty well against the Pro's telephoto lens from a couple of comparison pictures I was looking at online.

I rarely use the telephoto lens anyways. I have an Ultra 5G and maybe used it once when I first got the phone just to try it out.

I don't know if I would call it settled. I have very little access to ultra wide band 5G. Pixel 6 Pro is just to BIG for me. So unlocked Pixel 6 it is!

Yeah, probably not the best choice of wording in the title. It does sound like a spoiled brat not getting what they wanted.

More like chose the regular P6 over the 6 Pro despite the differences.

I have the Pixel 6 and love it. For me personally, I don't really see it as a compromise or settling for a lesser phone.

A few years back I got my son the P3 pro and wife the P3. Back then there was a more noticeable difference in size but not with the Pixel 6. Actually I think my P6 is slightly bigger than his P3 Pro. I think the P6 is much better value considering its got 95+% the same features/capabilities as the Pro

I got both ...But the value of differences will depend on you. Both are awesome and extremely similar. I personally prefer the Pro because of the 120hz, and it's thinner than the 6, plus I use the zoom quite a bit.

On October 19th I tried ordering the 6pro on the Google store but decided to SETTLE on the regular 6. I could be happy with either the 6 or pro in any colorway. I also settled on buying an s21ultra last January. I doubt that many of us actually need a new pixelphone, or any smartphone for that matter. Or the internet. Or cars. Or airplanes. I suppose we all are "spoiled brats".

I could afford either. The straight 6 checked all the boxes I cared about. The pro has telephoto which, when needed, I'll use a real DSLR camera; no need in my use case for the extra RAM, and I can't tell the difference between 90 and 120 hz. Came down to a more pocketable size. Oh, and I prefer a flat screen.

Flat screen and manageable size won out for me, so I went with the 6. The only feature I wish I had from the pro was the telephoto lens, but I do not use it enough to justify the extra $300.

The pixel 6 is a much better value imo. It also has a much better selection of colors. Unless you really want the telephoto lens, the faster refresh rate, more ram or curved screens it's not worth it. The pixel 6 pro is still a good deal compared to the other flagships out there but when compared to the pixel 6 its just not as good of a deal. I've also read a few reviews that have said the pro actually has worse battery life than the pixel 6 because of the 120hz screen. Not sure if that's true but I've had the 6 since launch and I'm not feeling any regrets at all for my choice. The only issue I really have is the fingerprint sensor. It's a real pain to use sometimes but I'm willing to deal with it in return for the other things that the phone does well.

If I coud get the standard 6 with 256GB of storage in the UK I would actually prefer it. I have both but am about to reluctantly sell on the standard 6.

My two cents, go for the 6 over the pro unless you absolutely know that you need a telephoto lens and higher refresh rate. The phones are so similar I do not see the need for the extra cash. An additional deciding factor for me was the flat display on the 6 (that I prefer) over the curved on the pro.
