So I tried using 'wifi tether for root users' and unfortunately I get an error when it tries to set up the ad-hoc. Is this because we don't have a netfilter-enabled kernel? Or am I not setting something up correctly?

Is anyone using a rooted tethering app successfully?

(wasn't sure if this should have gone in the Rooting, ROMs and Hacks forum)

within the tether app make sure you select Galaxy nexus 4g CDMA/LTE as your device.

Mines work just fine. Followed the instructions posted on XDA by qbking and all is good. I was able to turn on wifi tether and give my old EVO 3D access to email files to myself so i could download on New GS3. (didnt have a micro usb cable with me)

Mine is set at Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM).............the device's own preference, but it's been running fine.

*edit: changed to Samsung Galaxy Nexus (CDMA/LTE) + works just as well today......finicky stuff, huh?
