Anyone swapped their S7e with the 10?

Ok I am nearly convinced to get the 10 as it fills all the dots for my ''perfect'' phone, sound quality, sound volume, camera, UI, metal back...But I can't but read complaints about the screen, too pinkish and not bright enough.
It looks like the S7e got a hell of a screen (reviews feeling), so I wonder how better is it compared to 10?
Do you miss the screen or not?
Personally I had an S6 for a month last year, I ditched it with an M9 and if it was obviously less vivid but it didn't make me miss the S6's screen.
Also do you pixels with S7e screen when watching a VR movie? (Google Cardboard) Because I do with the Amoled screen of the HTC A9

Re: Anyone swapped his S7e with the 10?

I'm not going to be replacing it but then again i just may. I have the S7E and anxiously awaiting my 10. I actually just won the Nexus 6p in a giveaway and its what i'm currently using. Sadly i have to admit i don't miss the S7, besides the screen and clarity of course, the camera is slightly better but unless i have them both side by side i cant recall how much better the 7's camera is compared to the 6P. I can only imagine that with the 10, i wont miss it at all. I love the S7 but pure android takes the win for me over that Touchwiz thing, it looks cartoonish compared to vanilla android. Lets see.

As much as i love the S7 edge screen and the edge apps, i don't miss the speakers and the annoyance of mistakenly touching the screen while just trying to hold the phone and having apps open, videos stop, play..:-!

Brightness is in the eye of the beholder. I actually find most screens to be to bright. I always manually adjust as I even find auto brightness to be to bright for my viewing.

It looks like there are no difference between S6's screen and S7e, so I will be good with the 10.
The bad things of Amoled are burn-ins and pentile, making them bad for VR movies (visible pixels)

Re: Anyone swapped his S7e with the 10?

The argument of TouchWiz looking cartoonish I think is outdated because you can always go change the theme and make it look how ever you want. As far as vr, amoled or ips you're still going to see pixels. The resolution isn't high enough yet.

As soon as the htc nexus comes out I'm pretty sure people here are gonna manage to convince themselves that it's better than the 10. And the cycle goes on.

I can admit this is 100% true about me however I already admitted that I am a phonejunkie and always buy the newest thing looking for that one device that will lock me down so far have not found it. I find myself selling and buying, selling and buying and as of late starting a collection but you sir are right we do tend to talk ourselves into it and once the HTC Nexus gets here there will be plenty of reason why we find that better or should I say me vs we can't speak for everyone on here.

The screen brightness issue is overblown I feel...here's a photo for reference of a 10, z5, and Nexus 6p all at full brightness

I think output side is the bigger issue. Outside on a clear sunny west coast day, the nexus 6p is viewable but much harder to view than the s7 or even my guys iPhone 6. Inside, who cares.

Re: Anyone swapped his S7e with the 10?

I switched from the s7 edge to the 10 and couldn't. E happier. Not that I thought the 7 edge was a bad device. I actually loved it. No complaints really. But the 10 suits me best. The fit and finish for me is perfect. It is extremely fast just as the 7 edge. Battery life in on our with my 7 edge and I didn't have to disable nearly as much on the 10.

So far I have zero regrets. Love this thing so far.

No complaints here. S7E seemed slow even with nova. Battery life has been great for me and screen looks more toned down vs the over saturated Samsung. I personally dont even like the look of their tv screens

Hate their phones, love my Samsung TV.

Re: Anyone swapped his S7e with the 10?

S7E I had before the 10, its a great device, great camera, great battery life. Only problem I had was the accidental touches that drove me nuts and feel in the hand wasn't good to me. I felt uncomfortable with it.

The 10 is really great, battery life is better than the s7e despite having a smaller battery and the OS is super fast, it also has a faster fingerprint scanner than the s7e. As far as camera the 10 is right there with the s7e after the update. And audio forget it, the 10 blows everything out of the water. I have a pair of shures that the 10 drives perfectly and I heard things I never heard before. Just absolutely amazing...

With the display I put my 10 at 75% and it's running where my s7e is at 50%. It's dimmer but it still looks even if I pop it up 25% and can't tell much of a difference. So for me personally I want the audio, killer battery life and good feel in the hand over anything else.

Both are awesome devices, the s7 and G5 are great too but the 10 just has the hardware down perfectly and it's a beautiful device to look at. If I was going to choose phone of the year the 10 has my vote.

I would agree with most of what your wrote but no way the battery life on the HTC 10 is better than a S7e. I was getting around 30 hours battery life with 4 hours SOT on the S7e.

Battery on the HTC 10 seems fine so far, although day 2 is going to be down compared to day 1. Yesterday I got 20+ hours out of my 10. Today the phone has used up 40% in 6 hours so I may end up getting around 14-15 hours today.

Re: Anyone swapped his S7e with the 10?

I honestly don't know which one I am going to get at this point. They both are great phones and ticks some boxes for me. Maybe HTC 10 has a slight upper hand for me right now but really it's not that big an advantage. I am just waiting for more real life usage review coming out before pulling my trigger.

Re: Anyone swapped his S7e with the 10?

Here's day 2, in three more days I expect to be 20% better than this (doze learning and battery conditioning)... This is amazing for Android phone

I don't know if we can trust GSam. It thinks my S7 gets an average of 13.5 hours of SOT (obviously it doesn't, I actually get about 5 hours SOT).

Re: Anyone swapped his S7e with the 10?

I don't understand the way they come up with the avg either but as far as actual screen on time per charge it's always matched up with my phones stats.
Usually it has for me too. This time it's decided to bug out. Maybe I should reset the stats and start again?

I do like the app, really nicely designed and very informative.

Re: Anyone swapped his S7e with the 10?

I am torn between these two devices. After using the 10 for 5 days, I am most concerned about battery life. While it may not be a fair comparison, the S7E blows it away and its not even close. My 10 is getting 3-4 hours SOT which I consider to be average having used a 6p and Priv recently. I think the 10 is an awesome device but it feels like a very good but not great phone. I certainly prefer Sense and the design to the S7E. The metal build is sweet. The audio is awesome. Aside from the skin and audio, the S7E seems to be the better phone objectively. The screen is gorgeous and battery life is unmatched. Wireless charging is very useful to me.

But, I'm still in the process of deciding. I'm a big fan of HTC but I think right now the battery life is the 10s Achilles heel. Not sure what HTC was thinking when claiming 2 days. Just a total misfire. No way this phone gets that with any kind of moderate usage.

My brain tells me the S7E is the best phone in the world right now but the fanboy in me wants the 10.

Decisions, decisions...

I don't understand how you only get 3 to 4 hrs SOT unless you are doing heavy gaming or you are in a bad area for signal. Last night I got 3.5 hrs of SOT at full brightness and had 48% battery left. Nothing heavy just playing with it.
