I haven't really heard or seen any post about anyone switching from either pre-paid T-Mobile to Fi. I would just like to know how the process was and if everything is working correctly text (i.e. sms/mms from both android/iOS), calls, data, etc.
Edit: I would also like to add that I'm currently on prepaid T-Mobile with a Nexus 6 that has been updated to 5.1.1 under T-Mobile. Anyone who got invited to Fi have any problems with the T-Mobile build? or is it all working well?

I'm in the process of switching right now .... Still on T-Mobile Simple Choice 1GB while getting Fi up and running (so far so good with Fi), but I didn't buy my Nexus 6 until after I got my Fi invite and I bought it from Motorola (because I already had a Moto X 2014 and a Moto 360 financed via Moto). So I can't tell you anything about a T-Mobile-purchased/upgraded Nexus 6 running on Fi.

I'll dump my T-Mobile line just before I pay my next bill.

I made the switch from a T-Mobile Family plan to Fi. Unfortunately T-Mobile will not prorate plans unless you cancel lines completely, so I got stuck paying for my family plan for 20 more days even though there was only one number left on it. They would not change the remaining plan to a monthly plan until my billing end date. Due to this, T-Mobile lost the other line to cricket wireless.

As for the transfer of my number. It took 15 hours for T-Mobile to release my number....

I switched from T-mobile prepaid to Fi just two days ago. So far it's been working well - calls, data, and texts all seem to be working fine. I don't text all that much (mostly I use hangouts & whatsapp) so I haven't had a chance to test group texting, but hopefully there are no issues.

The process was fairly painless. I transferred/ported my old # and I was surprised that it took less than an hour to get activated.

I'm in the same boat as you in terms of build; my N6 has been updated to the T-mobile 5.1.1 build (LYZ28E). So far everything seems to work well, and I get LTE for the most part. (I'm in NNJ/NYC metro area.)

Switched. Took about 5 seconds for number to port and phone was able to make and receive calls.....yes 5 seconds. There is SMS Hangouts bug and its not working great for most people including me. (Some texts dont seem to go through or notification doesn't work). As far as service goes, well it works but its not ideal....switching between Sprint and T-Mobile is not exactly super fast and in some places where I used to get T-Mobile LTE, now I end up with Sprint 3G for short periods of time. There is a way to force Project Fi to use T-Mobile or Sprint or make it Automatic. VoLTE also doesn't work on Project Fi. Service is in Beta, can't really expect 100% reliability. I have high hopes for Google to make this into a very unique and very good cell service, but at this point it's just OK.

Switched from T-MOBILE two weeks ago. Coverage is about the same, but WiFi connectivity to open hotspots is better. There are areas near me that I am able to make clearer calls on and hold LTE signal longer, probably due to Sprint coverage. So far it's been great. I bought my N6 through Fi so it is still on 5.1 no news on 5.1.1 Hoping they open Fi up to the X Pure Edition, although I don't think it has the proper radio support.
