You have to root the phone and either run NextApp SDFix: KitKat Writable MicroSD (root) or, if you don't trust apps to modify system files, modify /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml with a text editor:
Find android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and android.permission.WRITE_MEDIA_STORAGE lines. These are XML sections. You need to make them look exactly like the strings below:
1: Use the native gallery app to move, delete, etc: Downside is that gallery contains all your pics so either do a sort on a known parameter or know the file name.
2. Plug Note 4 into Computer USB. Should be recognized as a device. Open either Card or phone and manipulate files (usually in the DCIM folder) as though they were on a hard drive.
For some reason ES File Explorer will delete files on SD card. I don't know how it gets around it. Sometimes delete everywhere in google photo works. But as I've found with es as well, it's inconsistent. But with Quickpic it's a no every time.
Ive used this before to fix my s4 but now im having the same problem with my s5, only when i go to save the changes it gives me an error message and wont save.... any way to get around this?
