Anyone using OP7 Pro with 2 T-Mobile SIM cards?

Hi Folks:

I've decided to make my switch from the S10+ permanent. This got me thinking that I should probably just get the unlocked OP7 Plus directly from OnePlus since updates are quicker and it supports dual Sims.

I'll use the 2nd Sim for high speed data when traveling, but would love to have one phone with both a personal and work number. I have the lines with T-Mobile post paid.

Has anyone done this successfully with T-Mobile? I've tried in the past with the Dual Sim Note 9, but it's only available in the international version with doesn't support VoLTE. So that was a non-starter in my area. All T-Mobile can officially offer me is the very crappy Digits app for a 2nd line.

The OP 7 is dual SIM dual standby (DSDS) only - that means you choose the SIM is uses and you're on that one. If you get a call on the other line it goes to voicemail I think, for personal and business SIMs on the same phone, you'd want dual SIM dual active (DSDA) - both enabled at the same time. And no one is making one any more, that I know of.

Thanks. That's good to know and really important, since I was considering returning my T-Mobile branded version (have had it for a week), to get one directly from OnePlus. The Dual Sim Note 9 sold on Europe and Asia does support receiving calls on both numbers. But in the US that's useless since T-Mobile purposely disables voice over LTE for those models. I had it working though, just without VoLTE.

I think my experience contradicts this. I have two SIMs from two different carriers in my OP7 pro. Both are "active" and can receive calls. What you do have to do is select a dedicated sim for is *data* usage. But the phone does not send calls from my secondary sim to voicemail. It just rings the phone normally.

I was using dual SIM cards with At&t and Verizon. You select your preferred Sims for voice and data, but both sim cards are active at all times.

Thank you and @soma4society for the confirmation. That is exactly how I want to use this except not with two carriers except when I'm travelling internationally during which I would love to use a 2nd Sim for data only at times. I've ordered the non T-Mobile version and will try it out. I'll let folks here know how it works with 2 T-Mobile post paid sims.

My international Galaxy S9+, after the May security update, had been able to use VoLTE on two Canadian networks (Bell and Koodo). Not only that, but it virtually made DSDS a thing of the past, by allowing you to use data via whichever SIM was actively on a VoLTE call, even if the default data SIM was the other one.
