My father's behind the mother on the series "This Is Us" in his journey through the horrific disease called Alzheimers, so the show is basically showing me what is coming... and it is breaking my heart :'(
My wife likes to watch it, and I've forced myself to watch with her, because I'm honestly in a bit of denial about where this is heading, and I know I need to be more prepared, but the last 2 episodes have had me in tears

Anyone else dealing with something like this that would like to talk about it? I know B. Diddy understands... being a Doctor he sees this from the medical side. The toll it takes on you is unbelievable, physically and mentally.
I wouldn't wish this on anyone, but Alzheimer's is on the rise in a big way, and the subject is popping up everywhere I look.. in movies, tv shows, books, and even a video game I looked at the other day.
All I can say is this feels like a fate worse than death, for my father and me
Don't mean to bum anyone out, just needed to talk a little, and my sweet wife is just as stressed as me, so she's pretty full up already.

		 you really are the best
you really are the best Thanks Javier for the reminder to take care of ourselves, that's something that has definitely been put on the back burner since my dad developed the Alzheimer's. I had my hair cut last week, and afterwards it took my dad several seconds to recognize me. It's the first time that's happened, and it shook me pretty good
