Anyone's 3G wireless tether (hotspot) wonky?

When I turn my 3G hotspot on, sometimes it connects quickly (of course, I wait a bit before connecting to it so that it gets through its process).

Other times it fails to connect even though the 3G is working fine on the phone. I usually turn data off for 10 seconds with airplane mode, then step through the whole process again. When I'm feeling lucky, I'll just disconnect from the laptop and reconnect to it and once in a while it'll 'hook' on and the connection will work.

Is this a bug, or is this something that only I'm experiencing?

I'm using the latest Harmonia + Picasticks.

Im not rooted, and mine sometime is wacky.. Its the 3G service cutting out. When its working if you notice on the 3G Icon both the arrows should be lit. I noticed that when the net cuts out the arrows are not lit up. Why who or what beats me. Ill just toggle the airplace mode (PIA) but that seems to fix it. But it hit or miss when it does it. The other thing I found that seemed to help is instead if WAP enabled I have it set to open. Open seemed to make a big help. But I also think its where your at too that may have an issue. Example my house its pretty decent. I went 10 miles down the road and it was hit or miss. Then I was in main part of city and it worked perfect. Just my take on it

> what really sucks is that if my phone stays on without rebooting for more than 2 hours, it freezes and reboots when i activate tether.

If your phone gets too hot it will reboot.

Wireless tether takes a lot of CPU resources.

If you're overclocked and your phone reboots when you turn on wireless tether, you might need to underclock.
