I'm right there with you. Installing the Jellybean "upgrade" is the worst mistake I've ever made.

What used to be a fast, smooth and fluid experience is now gone, replaced with an OS that suffers from constant lag, slowdown and freezing. So much for Project Butter! Even simple actions like swiping across homescreens produces lag, and games like Temple Run 2 are now unplayable. I've done some searching and this appears to be a widespread issue with Note owners who have installed Jellybean. I've tried everything I can think of to improve it - I've done a factory reset, disabled some of the stupid system apps running in the background like the various Samsung hubs and Yahoo stocks etc, and I barely have any apps running at any given time, but the lag and slowdown is horrendous and my RAM is at around 650mb in use constantly.

Samsung, naturally, don't seem to have any comment about it (surprise, surprise). I don't want to do it, but I might have to look into rooting/a custom ROM. I'm never getting a non-Nexus device ever again! Samsung have ruined what was, for me, the best phone I've ever had :(
