Is there anyway to completely remove these apps and icons off my phone? My phone is rooted if that will help any.

You can remove them with Titanium Backup.

Antek App Manager will work as well. I'd suggest freezing the Twitter app so it doesn't cause problems with the stock rom. Facebook can just be uninstalled with either app.
