AOKP User here... what should be my next move?

I've been on the same AOKP version for a few months now. Overall I like it fine, but it's become rather buggy (especially w/r/t bluetooth media, which often requires me to reboot the phone before it'll work, and a few other less annoying bugs).

I've been waiting with baited breath for an official CM release, but I'm thinking that's just not happening anytime soon, and I'm fine staying with AOKP anyway.

I guess the question is, should I....

- wait for Jellybean version of AOKP
- do CM nightly
- just update to the latest AOKP version?

I should say that I really don't have the time or patience to do frequent re-flashings, I find it super annoying, so whatever I switch to I'm going to want to leave alone for a while, which is why the CM nightly makes me nervous. Is Jellybean that big a deal?

I vote for #2 until #1 becomes a reality.

And to answer your question, JB is unquestionably better than ICS. Absolutely love it :).

In my opinion, I would upgrade to the newest aokp version (milestone 6) if you want to stay on ICS. It's really smooth and when I was using it before JB I had no bugs with it whatsoever.

Quoted for truth. AOKP has been hinting at JB builds on their twitter feed which is annoying but hopefully means they are close to a release. Until then CM10 is probably the only good alternative out there.

CM9 RC2 is out if you want something stable and want to stay with ICS. I've been running JB since the nandroid port and haven't had any real issues so it really just depends on what you want.

All the "nightlys" are pretty effin stable. Don't be thrown off by the word nightlys. You can install todays nightly and leave it on for months. But jelly bean is evolving rapidly so you will miss out on the mods and tweaks that come out with every new release. Not to mention the big gun aokp. When that drops it will be big time.

Yeah jelly bean is a big deal.

IMO, go with Bugless Beast Jelly Bean ROM until an AOKP drops their JB ROM.

Even though they may look similar, JB is sooooo much better than ICS and BB is a great ROM...I've had ZERO issues with it since install.

Thanks guys! I ended up going with CM9 RC2 for the time being. I would like to get Jelly Bean going, but for now I'm enjoying being back on CM after a long hiatus. I can't wait for either AOKP Jelly Bean or CM10 to get dropped, then I'll upgrade again!
