App Icons turn to green android guy when restarted

For some strange reason, when my phone restarts, all the downloaded apps change their icons to the green little android guy. It doesn't matter if the app is installed to the phone, or my sdcard.

I have the mpie from XGODY on Straighttalk BYOP. Anyone have an idea why this happens, and a possible method to prevent it?

I'd guess that it's either a defective launcher app from the manufacturer or defective firmware. Try installing an alternative launcher like Google Now Launcher or Nova Launcher.
