App-Level Passcodes?

I have an email app that also enables me to set an App-Level Passcode on it, but since I have my S10e with Device-Level encryption (Strong Protection enabled), is it really required to set a passcode for this email app?

Depends on your e-mail provider policies (some corporate accounts virtually take over ownership of the phone). The app-level passcode allows the app to 'contain' these policies to within the app only, so if for whatever reason a remote server reset or limitation like disabling smart locks are enforced, they're only done so for the app alone, not affecting the rest of your phone.

My device is not enforced or my email app. But, there is an option in the settings to set a passcode for the email app.

The admin user manual says:

If Passcode is set to None, then the app is not encrypted. If you do
not enforce an app-level passcode, then consider enforcing a device-level passcode using a device profile, which encrypts the device.

I think that I do not need to set an app-level passcode because my phone is already set with a device-level passcode to unlock the phone and Strong Protection is enabled as well which means the contents of the phone is encrypted.
