Since moving to the note 8 I've noticed this new feature, is there a way to allow the mentioned app and not be notified about it? I want to keep it for everything else

Not a built in feature of the phone that I can tell. I've never had this happen on any Android phone that I have used. Are you sure that is not an app that you have installed warning you?

Actually just confirmed it is.

For reference - Go to Settings > lock screen and security > App permissions monitor
You can simply turn it off and on or you can edit which apps to monitor.

It's already turned on on my phone but I've never had any warnings.

I use a call recording app, but I've always known about the permissions and stuff. good safeguard for those who might skim through installing apps and miss something regarding permissions. must be new with 8 series phones from samsung

I believe it's new with the Note 8 on 7.1.1. My S7 Edge on 7.0 doesn't have App Monitor. Also my S8+ on 7.0 doesn't have it.
