does the handcent app use more battery then the stock sms and can i see/hear my vzw voicemail in google voice?

I personally don't use Handcent (I use GO), but I've never heard of any issues with Handcent causing any significant battery drain. It shouldn't be using any more juice than the stock app, to be honest.

As for GV/VZW, no. You won't be able to listen to your VZW Voicemails through Google Voice. You an however set up Google voice to be your primary voicemail service.

thanks and so basiclly i got a 2nd number on my cellphone tho and does that mean i would have to have every one call the GV number? and whats the diffrence between go and handcent. i like handcent because i feel its eaiser on the eyes and btw you can customize this phone anyway you want...is there a better dialer to use while docked so its in landscape

as for the stock sms app is there anyway to disable it?

In regards to your GV question, I don't believe you can filter calls through it if that's what you're asking. If you set it up as your primary voicemail service, all calls will get forwarded to your GV voicemail if you don't answer the phone.

I like GO because I think it has a cleaner interface than Handcent. They're both very similar in basically every aspect though. Handcent may have a few extra options (GO is fairly new).

You can disable notifications in the stock messaging app. Open up the stock messaging app and hit the Menu button, then go to settings and uncheck the Notifications box. This will prevent you from getting double notifications in both the stock app and Handcent, or any other third party messaging app.

As for a different dialer, I'm not 100% positive. I've never tried to install a different dialer, but I know the Marketplace does have a few dialer replacements in it.

thanks for the help and this phone is great keep finding new stuff to make the phone better to bad no 2.2 yet i really wanna use the car dock aux port wiht out having to plug the charger and aux wire in all the time

No problem, glad I could help! As for 2.2, my best advice is try to not get too frustrated. I know I've had to catch myself a few times when I was getting frustrated with the situation. I don't care what anyone says, I'm convinced 2.2 is coming, and it's better late than never.

Glad you like your phone, I love mine as well :)
