app shortcut icons not showing up

Just got the tab s 8.4 The app shortcuts that no longer show up in the app drawer or any of my screens. Looked for an app launcher under settings > applications but I couldn't find anything. I had a fewonderful app shortcuts turn up in the Multi-window but I can't move them to a screen by long pressing on the icon.
Please help.

If it is like the 10.5, there should be a faint-dotted arrow at the bottom. Tap it. You can edit, also if you open HELP, it suggested you can drag items into/out of that window. I really have not played with the multi-window feature

I see the dotted arrow and have gone to edit, but there is nothing that suggests dragging items into/out of that window. I also found that applications that I download are coming up in the recent download folder but I cant move those onto a page either.

UPDATE - Restarted the damn thing and is working as intended. fml
