So whenever, I put app shortcuts on my home screen. I've noticed they slowly disappear from the home screen. I still have the apps installed. Just it seems as if my home screens self clean? Any ideas?
I didn't say that... but it is a possibility. One of the symptoms of a failing sd card used as adopted storage is apps disappear from the desktop. Basically the phone loses touch with the sd card momentarily and then reconnects to it, the app is still there, but the icon disappears from the desktop.yes I'm using the SD card as Internal memory. so the SD card is failing?
I couldn't agree more with @acejavelin. Adoptable storage is the last resort for a 8gb phone. A failing card will mess your phone for good and it'll be very difficult to get things back to normal if this happen. Too risky for my liking.I didn't say that... but it is a possibility. Honestly, I would NEVER use an sd card as adopted storage, only portable... the moderators (Moto employees) on the Lenovo support forums say the same thing. If you had an old Moto G with 8GB of storage it might be worth it, but in a device with 32 or 64 it is purely a waste and puts unnecessary stress on the sd card and increases the possibility of lost data like photos and videos.
Unless you have hundreds and hundreds of apps and games installed, you will never use up 64GB of storage... I have 190 apps installed and am using only 5GB of space, for pictures I set the camera to save to sd card, otherwise everything uses internal storage.Thank you both. I will do that. I have 64gb internal. just thought of expanding it. if that's the case, it's not worth the risk.
