I am looking for a way to capture the screen changes on my nexus 7 into a video. Basically I want to create a video for my app and want something that can help in it. Any ideas?

I only see one app in the play store, requires root and comments suggest it doesn't work anyways:

[edit]: Here's another...also require root and not free...

https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...OSwiY29tLm1zLnNjcmVlbmNhc3QiXQ&token=1DIfmaE7..

[edit2]: Whoops, that second one which looks good does not work on tegra 3...

Thanks. I have tried both the apps. Neither of them work with the Nexus 7...

Tried the option of converting screens into motion...The resultant video doesn't look very good and definitely not professional..

Why am I not surprized ? LOL

You do know that there are a horde of these kind of vid capture apps on Win 7 including one that comes with Win7 ? You can also get an Android (Bluestacks, If I recall, is it's name) emulator to run on Win7 and possibly do both but that remains to be seen. One always can use a camera....results look pretty decent with decent equipment in my experience.

Thanks.. I tried bluestacks but somehow it doesn't like my computer/graphics card (running windows 8).. Tried recording with a camcorder but my hands are on the way... Probably I am not professional enough.. Plan to borrow a non Tegra 3 tablet from a friend and buy the "Screencast Video Recorder" app to do this.. Hope he would be ok with me rooting his device...

Good luck with that.

Give the camera recording a try with a tripod or cam mount - not very expensive - it's all a matter of practice makes perfect.

I like the look of your website - very professional appearance..

Thanks... I invite you to try out my app as well.. There is a free trial version available on Google Play...

hehe, the only meeting I have scheduled on the horizon is with any afterlife that might exist.

As much as I might like to take notes on my N7 as that meeting is happening, I doubt I can take it with me.

VNC from computer to N7 and screen cap the VNC window. plus you'll get to record the mouse to show clicks.

have you tried doing the VNC from computer to N7? Can you suggest any apps for it on the N7..

I still have to take videos of my app screen with a camera. To stop the pixel resolutions of of the camera sensor and device screens interfering, I slightly defocus the camera. This works well but is not ideal as it takes a long time to set everything up.

I used to use the droid VNC server back on Froyo, but actually I hadn't looked myself recently. I can't find any either. the droid VNC server one is not updated, doesnt work anymore

I cannot believe that with all this technology there is not a simple built in app on the nexus 7 tablet to record, edit, save & upload anything you do for free. I'm so sick and tired of reading web sites regarding free screen,no root, root, record anything, download this download that. Well what crap! Not good enough. My first galaxy android has a TV out option so I can connect phone to TV. Well I don't expect a valid response as the app would have already been installed on my tablet upon opening. Just not good enough.

Tried emailing google and asking for one? Seems a shame to blame them for not putting in the effort if you wont either. Sometimes just asking can get you somewhere.

All of the good video capture apps require root and are not guaranteed to work on every device. Since you are talking about the nexus 7 I would recommend still using a separate camera to record the screen BUT get an OTG cable off of amazon for a few bucks and plug a USB mouse in thus way your fingers will not get in the way and you can use the on screen mouse to point click and scroll through your apps.
