Hello,

Since its screen is slightly damaged, I need to move to a new phone, which happens to be the exact same model.

Before manually downloading each application before reconfiguring each(+ importing data if need be)… is there an app that makes it easier, at least to download and install the apps (Google Play Store if not F-Droid)?

Thank you.

It's a Xiaomi 5 running Android 9 with its MiUI interface.

I was a bit in a hurry, so ended up reinstalling everything manually.

Still missing: A shortcut to enable/disable USB tethering. It's not part of the menu that pops up when connecting a USB cable, and it's a bit cumbersome to dive in the Settings section.

To move from one Xiaomi to another Gemini says there's an app for that.

Xiaomi offers an app called Mi Mover for transferring data between devices, particularly when switching to a new Xiaomi phone. [1, 2]
Here's how it works:

  • Purpose: Mi Mover is designed to migrate data from an old Android or iOS device to a new Xiaomi smartphone. [1, 2, 3]
  • How it works: The app establishes a direct connection between the two devices, allowing wireless data transfer. You can use various connection methods like Wi-Fi hotspot, QR code, or Bluetooth. [2, 4]
  • What can be transferred: Mi Mover can transfer various data types, including files, videos, songs, documents, contacts, call history, apps, notes, and even custom alarms. [2, 3]
  • Ease of use: The app aims to make the data transfer process seamless and easy, allowing users to feel like they're not using a new phone at first. [3]
