Does anyone know of an Android app which makes switching between open applications easier? Pressing the home button shows me a history of all apps I've used, but I'm just looking for something which shows the main applications which I have actually opened and am using.

An emphatic yes. Switchr. Been using it for a couple weeks, thank goodness someone pointed me in its direction.

I have mine set coming in from my right, (dominant hand), just use your thumb and swipe in, and your recent apps are right there. You can even preview when your thumb is on the icon. It's pretty awesome, I'm really surprised more people don't use it, but...

If i am correct, it shows 8 of your most recent apps in the arc, so you may have had 20 open that you'll find in the usual recent apps area but it'll only show the last 8 you've been working on. (iirc, pretty sure). Which is really good, otherwise it'd be a mess.

It's not without it's flaws, 10-15% of the time i'll click on a recent app icon in the arc and it'll bring me to the one next to it, but it's still heaps, no, worlds better than the native alternative. Mr. Adib is the man.

There's another task switcher called "looper", similar design to switchr. i tried it and preferred switchr, can't quite remember why.
