App Update Notifications

I noticed that I received 6 App update notifications on my HTC Incredible this week, so I decided to check my Flyer for update notifications and found none. Then checking Android Market and looking at "My Applications" the updates were shown there and install all apps could be selected and installed. So has anyone else received app update notifications on their Flyer?

I have, but it's rare. Then again, I only rarely receive notifications on my Incredible, either. Usually by the time the device figures out an update is available, I'm already in the process of downloading it. It's not all together clear to me whether app update notifications are pushed or pulled.
