APP wont Remove and battery life

I have a few apps I want to remove however I cannot seem to be able to uninstall them. I use uninstall software and the android apps manager and I still cannot uninstall them. Any recommendation.

One app in particular is called News and Weather Version 1.2.02RC2 (PROD)


Also after I updated my EVO to 2.2 I seem to have worst batter life any ideas

When you say you can not uninstlal them what happens? Are you getting an error, does the uninstall start then fail, does the uninstlal never start?

Do you use appbrain w/ the web installer and have you tried uninstlling it from the appbrain website?

I use appremover without any problems (AppRemover - Android app on AppBrain)

Go to Settings>Accounts & Sync>Background Data, and uncheck the box, helped me BIG TIME, hope this works for you.

Didn't News and Weather come with Froyo? That was a new widget that appeared after I updated.
