Ok guys, first post and as the title suggests, yes, I am an Apple fan boy! (can hear the gallows being constructed as I type) :p

I've not been one to slag off Android because basically I've never owned anything Android so I didn't see or feel the need to comment on something I've not had or used.

So, along comes the Nexus 7. At first I wasn't bothered, didn't need it, got an iPad, why would I want another tablet? But the 7" appealed to me, let alone the price! So I took the plunge and ordered the 16gig.

Well well well!! What a sneaky lot you Android boys are! Why didn't any of you inform me of Android's ease of use and easy customisation? :) I'm loving it! That was difficult to say coming from an Apple fan boy! ;)

There's things on Android as standard that you have to jailbreak on Apple to do, this annoys me!

What can I say about the Nexus 7....this too....I love it!! It's not left my side since I got it two weeks ago. Thankfully, touches wood, I've not had any issues with it at all, works like a charm.

I'm doing more with this than I do with my iPad, just wish Adobe PhotoShop Touch was compatible but I'm sure Adobe will be working on it. When and if an iPad mini comes out, don't think i'll bother with it since I've got this little guy now and it's more than filling my needs.

So there ye go, a happy Apple fan boy with a Nexus 7. :D

Welcome to the Green Side. ;)

Start playing with alternate keyboards, launchers, and browsers. Mind = blown. :D

Of course, this is where a lot of the complaints about inconsistency come in. There I was, sitting there on my old Android phone entering Graffiti (the alphabet PalmPilots used to use back in the day) text because my fingers and Swype were not getting along well that day, and one of my Apple-totin' friends comes up and says "what the ___ kind of keyboard is that?".

I explained it and his response was "no wonder no one can figure out Android if you can change stuff as basic and important as the keyboard! That's a horrible user interface design!".

To each his/her own. I have at least 4 input devices installed at all times, because some days I like to Swype and some days I like to type and some days I like to graffiti.

I'll certainly try out your suggestions. thanks. Kinda missing being able to see emoji though, use that a lot...oh well.:-\

I admire Apples aesthetics, their zealous control of their ecosystem, and dedication to superb customer experience. But I don't like any of their products with the possible exception of the Macbook Air. The new ThinkPad Carbon may kick the Air off for me though....

One thing I really missed coming from iDevices (which I figured was standard but sadly isn't!) were GLOBAL Badge Notifications. I know to many Android Users it might seem pointless, but to go from having it to not (or to only having it on SMS / GMail / Missed Calls as all the other "Unread Count"-type Apps do) is really noticeable!

Anyhow, I've found a way to get GLOBAL Badge Notifications working for all Apps on your Android device--> http://forums.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=199709

I admire your Courage, in coming here and Telling us how you feel, at the risk of getting flamed.
Most people would have kept their new found love of Green quiet.
I my self was a big on BB. till i got tired of the lag & having to pull the battery and reset all the time.

Welcome aboard to the green army. :D

I love my Android too, now that the hardware has caught up with the demands made on it by the software Android is really coming into it's own. The best thing for me is that there are so many things you can do with a little bit of risk and patience.

I'm hearing you. I've got an Air, love that too.

I love the customisation and workarounds for it. Already rooted....let the fun begin! ;)

Photoshop touch actually does work on the Nexus but it's blocked in the Play Store because of the screen size. I took the apk off of my Transformer and loaded it on my N7 and it works really well. I dunno how to get it though (legally) if you didn't buy it on a 10" tab already.

Maybe changing the screen dpi to make it the same as a 10" tab would work ... hmm

Well hello there! I'm a fellow iOwner but definitely not a Fangirl of any platform. This is my 1st real foray into Android and I couldn't have picked a better device to start off with.

The N7 rocks! And I know you'll love it as much as I do.

Welcome aboard and cheers! :)

To be honest, if I was going to get an Android phone it would be the S3. Thank you.
