Hi guys,

I have recently upgraded to the Optimus S for work purposes. I need to some how connect a wireless keyboard to my phone.

I have downloaded the programs JP Bluekeyboard, KeyPro, Easy Connect Bluetooth, and BlueInput off of the Android Market.

I have also purchased the Apple Wireless Keyboard and have seen the videos and other threads that explain how easy it is to connect their android to the Apple Keyboard. But when I go to finalize the connection to where I can type, the program says that the keyboard is "disconnected". I have tried everything to my knowledge.

Is there another program that I can try that is not on the Android Market that can allow me to connect my keyboard?

I think I am either missing a step or it's my illiteracy to technology. Maybe I need to "root" my phone? If so, I need someone to explain to me how to do so in laymen terms.

Thanks again guys!

You need to root, flash a custom recovery, and flash a CM7 ROM in order for the apple BT keyboard to work. Same deal with Wii remotes.

Ok. So... Do you mind walking me through how to do these actions you are describing? Again, I am technologically illiterate. I have no idea how to root or what a CM7 ROM is...

I won't go off-topic and do that in this thread, but the Rooting, ROMs and Hacks section is your friend. Plenty of guides in there ;)

Cool, thanks again.

I did alot of research and found that Sprint and LG made a version of my phone that can be rooted.

SW Version: LS670ZVD

Is there still a way to root this version?

If you read the Rooting, ROMs and Hacks section like I suggested you will find both the rooting guide (which is specific to that version) and my utility Gingersnap will both allow you to root quite easily. Now onward, young padawan and may the Force(TM) be with you!
