Apple Music on Pixel

Is Google play music really that good? I switched from iPhone about 6 months ago to the s7 edge and used apple music cuz of the family plan. The only issue I have with apple music is that offline mode is inconsistent. Does Google play music have about the same amount of artist and albums as apple music, and how is it compared to spotify? Sorry for going off topic just curious about the amount of people saying how good Google play music is.

Depends. Some people like various ones. Some people swear by Spotify but so far Google Play Music has given me all the music and more that I want. Having YouTube Red tossed in for free with the GPM Subscription is just another big bonus since I like to browse around YouTube and having no ads is nice .

Yep it is up to date. I was digging around in Apple support and it appears that the app is not compatible with Nougat 7.1 yet. So my guess is the people who installed it did so thru backup or before an update was pushed to their pixel. I have a Apple Support request in and will report back when i hear directly from Apple.

Have you tried from the google play store on a pc, not your phone?

When I got my Pixel XL I was excited to try out the free 3 months of GPM, but I didn't know it was tied in with Youtube Red. I already used the free trial of Youtube red a few months ago, and now I cant try GPM.

For everything that I go for, Spotify, Google Play, and Apple Music have all had what I was looking for. Yep, I have tried all three extensively and settled on Google Play until I found out about such things as student discounts. However, I miss Google Play terribly. Great offline mode that works well, better way to queue up music, and to me a nicer interface. I also like how easy it is for liked songs to just fall into an easy to find liked music playlist. This irritates me about Apple Music is the heart function...at least drop these songs into a playlist or something. So useless. I do miss crossfade though on Spotify, but I can live without it. Honestly, I would rank Apple Music third behind Play and Spotify.

Oh and no web player for Apple Music suck as well. Google and Spotify win in that regard. Having to use iTunes for when you want to listen to your music on a computer stinks.

Thanks for the opinion and info. I will give it a try. I'm going back to school in January, and I was going to try the student discount on Spotify. I agree with Apple Music not adding your liked music into a playlist. That would be so useful. I also don't like that Apple Music doesn't shuffle as well as Spotify. It is always playing the same music over and over.

Sure did, my families other 3 phones all say available but the pixel is greyed out and says not compatible.

This is definitely an odd issue. I don't use it but just to check for the sake of the thread it will let me download it. I have a 128 GB Pixel XL from the Google Store.

I downloaded no problem when I got the Pixel and working normally. I'm in the US, which country are you in? May be that has to do something with it?

Did you happen to lose music when you downloaded it? I've had an apple music account, just got the pixel today, and there are some songs that are there but just apparently "aren't avaible in the US anymore" on apple music. At least thats what it said.
