Application that would lock the screen

Hi I have a Droid Incredible Froyo 2.2.I was looking for an application or widget that you would press on you screen instead of turning the screen off to avoid accidentally pressing other buttons and it would lock the screen.

I'm not sure that would help much, then you'd be pressing home and then trying to find the widget to lock your screen. Does it help to know that you're not powering off your phone, if you tap the power button it just locks it? If you press-and-hold it gives you the option to power off which shuts off the radios and such.

hi thank you for your repsonse, but i am looking for an app an widget that would simply lock the phone before I put it in my holster instead of pressing the power button to turn the screen off

Pressing the power button turns of the screen, this saves power, what are you asking? To lock it but not to turn off the screen?

IMHO a dedicated physical button is MUCH easier than a widget, but to each their own.
