Apply Facebook Photos to Droid Contacts?

Has anyone found a way to take someone's facebook photo and add it to the Droid contact list? When I open my contacts, most of them have photos, which have been pulled from FaceBook, but 3rd party apps, such as Handcent SMS, only pull the images I have set for my contacts...

Has anyone found a workaround to this issue?

In the Facebook settings, select "Sync all". That will put all your facebook friends in your contacts lists.

Go to your contact list, and find the facebook entry that didn't sync with your existing contact. Open it and try to "Edit Contact". It will tell you that you can not edit facebook contacts. On that screen, click menu and click Join. Select the contact you want to sync it with.

When you're done joining facebook profiles to contacts, go back to your facebook settings and set the sync option back to "Sync with existing contacts". All the facebook friends will disapear from your contact list.

Be warned, often it will rename your contact to their facebook name instead of the contact name you gave them. Hopefully you don't have too many friends that think it's cool to not use their name and get stuck with that in your contact list.

I had a really cool "impress your iPhone buddies" moment today with this exact feature. My co-worker called my phone while we were sitting next to each other and noticed that his current FB photos popped as my contact photo. He was amazed when I told him that my contacts automatically sync with FB. Him: "My iPhone doesn't do that!", me: "Droid does."! I loved it!

What if you originally imported every facebook contact you had with the initial sync, (before old phone contacts were imported - i had to return to the store later to get that done b/c their software wasn't ready), but along with deleting ones I didn't want, I deleted ones I thought were going to overlap when they imported my contacts from my old phone. Now I want to re-synch to join those so I can see their pics.

Problem is, facebook doesn't seem to want to sync those again, it only adds new friends I've made since then. I did notice when I deleted those facebook profiles, it said something to the effect of "cannot delete, can only hide"...so if they're there, somewhere, how do I "unhide" them so I can join them?

This needs to come with pictures, I have no idea what you are talking about.

I don't want all of my facebook friends in Contacts list.. I just want FB pics to show up in the handcent app..

Exactly... But it seems as if the developer has acknowledged this issue and i working on a fix. All for a free app. Amazing.

I know this is going back a ways, but I have the exact same issue with my G2; I already "hid" the duplicate FB contacts on my phone contacts. Did you by chance figure this out?
