Apply VZ Tab Update EC02 without data plan?

Have a VZ Galaxy Tab... happily using as WiFi only.

My Tab "seems to" have received the recent EC02 update 2 weeks ago.

About once a week it has asked me to apply the update and appears to do so and re-boot but nothing has changed? Under Settings/About Device... the build # still shows as DJ11???

Under System Updates, it of course says I'm on the latest build ///

Do I have to somehow have a VZ data plan active for the update to apply?

Is there a site to download the update and manually apply it???

I've had the same update apply itself numerous times with no results as well. I have a vzw tab but only use wifi

Awesome profile pic! Ok..on to android. I don't think being rooted would effect you. I'm rooted and have received the update, but maybe it wont apply cuz iam rooted. Hmmmm. Do we have any VZW data plan users that are on the same build?

What does the update do? I ask since I am looking at an unlocked Verizon GT and may or may not actually put it on a data plan.

I was hoping that some1 with a data plan would chime in and let us know...I guess we'll sit back in our fishin chairs and wait for a bite

After a little forum recon I seen this thread to manually get yourself the update.
