Apps closing automatically

Not sure whether this is a device issue or something in Android settings but, apps automatically close when left in the background. For an example I'm playing a game, pause it, come back 15min later and it'll be restarted and progress will be lost. What bugs me about this is the fact that the app is set to run in the background, and sometimes will stay open for hours yet other times it closes after just a few minutes... Any suggestions?

Huawei is notorious for overly aggressive memory management, which can lead to behavior like this. If you've already gone to the system setting that "protects" the app from being closed, and this still happens, then it's likely a firmware-level issue. Contact Huawei support and see if they can help. Otherwise, think about getting a phone from a different manufacturer next time.
