I have uninstalled Microsoft Translator App in my Huawei Mate10PRO. I have also disable the Install from Unknown Sources. It has been a daily basis now for me to uninstall the said Apps. Anybody there that can help is very much welcome.

Welcome to Android Central! Are the apps installing from the Play Store, or from somewhere else?

"Installed from information"? I'm not sure what that means. Are there other Microsoft apps that were preinstalled?

None. Only Translator. I did not install this APP in the first place. I can say that this was installed from "information" because in my settings/ apps / apps details = it says installed from information. Whereas, other apps are saying it is installed from Google play store.

Here's how to post a screenshot: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...ide-how-post-screenshots-android-central.html. You may have to do it on a computer, since the Android Central app might not let you attach a screenshot to a reply.

It looks like it was intended to be preinstalled: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/translation/2017/10/19/microsoft-huawei-nmt-ondevice/. It's annoying that it keeps reinstalling, but that's pretty much the same as if they didn't allow you to uninstall it in the first place.:-\

It is not pre-installed. I've been using this phone the last 8 months. It was only last 5 days that this app was automatically installed. And this app (translator) is not updated compare to the one available in the Google play store. But anyway, I am trying also to fix this my self.

Hmm, interesting. Did the phone recently get a system update?

When it install automatically, the app info says "installed from information". And when I updated it through Google play store, the app info says "installed from google play store".

My suspicion is that this was included with the recent system update. The "Installed from information" designation probably means that it was installed automatically through some system command. You may want to contact Huawei support and ask them about this, and if there's any way to get rid of it. I'm guessing there isn't, unless you root the phone.

I also just realized you had posted in the P10 Pro forum, instead of the Mate 10 Pro forum. I moved the thread to the proper forum so that other Mate 10 Pro owners might find this thread more easily and comment.

It's been two days now that the subject app (translator) no longer installed automatically in my Huawei Mate10PRO. Maybe you were right, perhaps the app is included in the APP Gallery of Huawei (If Apple has APP Store and Google has PLAY Store then Huawei has APP Gallery) when I had a system update from Android oreo to Android pie

How?

In the APP Gallery (if you are signed in), click Me >> Purchase History>> click Delete >> select the unwanted apps.

I share this to you in anticipation that perhaps one day this may be of help.
