apps not working correctly after update

I updated my phone to Marshmallow and some apps aren't working as they should. For example Spotify doesn't play next song automatically and kik doesn't update messages until app is reopened.

I wipe the cache on the phone from boot menu. Removed battery and SD card. Nothing I did is working.

Perhaps try uninstalling the app completely, reboot the phone, install the app again.

Have you checked to make sure your date and time are correct, this is often the cause of apps stopping after updating/rooting your phone.
