Tried to install redCMW this weekend so I could use Voodoo but couldn't get it installed and every time I tried it would only get to the Samsung screen and then hang. Had to wipe and re-install Froyo and ever since all apps keep starting up as soon as I shut them down. Battery life is like 2 hours. How do I stop this? Didn't have this problem before and had same Froyo version (2.2.1 kernel 2.26.32.9) Any help?

Which cwm did you install? Where did you get the file, specifically which thread? Which version of Froyo are you running? If it's not superclean 2.9.2, you will need to go menu=>settings=>privacy and make sure there is a checkmark in back up my data, but not one in automatic restore. This is a Froyo feature and it has done nothing but freeze up peoples phones because unlike restoring from Titanium backup or My Backup, this feature tries to restore all of your apps at the same time instead of one right after the other.

As far as cwm, there is a new version that corrects some permission issues. Check it out here:

Sharky could this be my battery prob i have both of them checked. Should i not have both? would this mess up my Titanium backups? I might be totally off base. also on that note the battery is still acting a fool after the boot downs from other night. hopefully by tomorrow all will be right. since takes a few days

I don't know if it will necessarily mess up your titanium backups. It will definitely freeze up your phone. Uncheck automatic restore. With your phone, everything seems to point to something constantly running. I believe there are some widgets that are constantly running even when you think they are not. Also check all your poll times for you email, facebook, etc. I have facebook set to sync every 12 hours, email every three. The less often any of these programs sync and poll, the better your battery life will be.

having automatic restore checked has had a tendency to freeze up phones because it is trying to restore all your apps at the same time. uncheck automatic restore and you will be fine from at least that standpoint.

Whenever you wipe data it kicks in after reboot. Adrynalyne disable it in sc 2.9.2, so if that is what you are running, you shouldn't have a problem. I still leave it unchecked just to be safe.
