I use phoneinfo...
Do you have another app that you use to disable the 4G? (turn off radio)
phoneinfo app sometimes turns itself back on.

Hmm... completely turn off the cell/radio or just 4G? If you turn off the radio, your phone is no longer a phone ;-) Is this what you want?

When I travel, I disable all 2G/3G/4G data as T-Mobile USA does not offer an international data roaming plan. I do leave my phone ON and I do exchange text messages (not MMS). Granted, my Nexus 4 is "neutered" but at least I have a phone and text messaging. Roaming text rates are MUCH more acceptable than the exorbitant data roaming charges T-Mobile hits us with. The app I use is "Data ON-OFF" from the market.

This was about the data usage on my Samsung tablet. My phone is a RAZR max.
So, yea I want to turn that data off MOST of the time on the tablet. I want to have the option of turning it off and be on wifi to save data.
Thanks for that app. I downloaded it and I really like the widget.
The main thing I see different is how it displays in the status bar.
With phone info, when I turn off radio, an X shows up over the radio bars, telling me that the radio is off. With this new app you mentioned, that doesn't happen.
But, the 4g icon displays out of the tray.
I liked the X better lol. Seemed more visually confirming that data want being used.
I guess as long as the widget is on, I just assume that the radio is disabled.

As noted in my E-mail, the app does NOT turn off the radio on your phone, only the DATA. As for the TAB, if you have a version with a phone modem, then the app will work for data but just remember that it does NOT turn off the cell phone's radio!

Hmm...I can't make cell phone calls on my Tab2. :)
And that's a good thing.
