Apps to Sd card

When I move apps to sd card why is it the icons go to default look what can I do

First why are u moving apps to SD? The X has a crap load of internal storage devoted to only being used for apps. Your problem could stem from the app not recognizing the SD location.

I don't understand why you would want apps on the sd card. There's more than enough storage on the device. The card just introduces an additional point of failure and sluggishness due to it's slower read write write time. Just because you can do something doesn't mean it's the best thing to do. Stick with the internal drive and if you fill that up, delete some of the junk that you never use.

Honestly, I could never imagine having so many apps that you'd fill up the internal storage. I was actually a little annoyed that the internal storage was solely for apps and couldn't be devoted to media at all. If you managed to fill up your 8 gigs of internal storage you've got an app hoarding issue that needs to be addressed.

i also move apps to my sd when possible....only bc i figured the X would run faster and smoother wihout much memory being used onbaord. but i could just be mistaken. so will having a bunch of apps onboard not really affect performance?

No the memory is solely just for apps. It's like this they took a SD card and moved it to the board. The OS and other stuff have its own memory. This one reason why I love my X.

thanks alot. i didnt realize the onboard memory was seperate from the system. i have moved back my apps fromm the sd to the phone. i only have 2 gigs stored anyway so its not like it alot. but i do have a ton of apps. they just dont take up too much space.

I need help with this issue as I haven't been able to get the "preloaded" crappy apps and trial versions off of my LG Vortex. I now have the internal memory full and an 8gig sd card that's empty. I figured I would try an old post before I post a new in the Vortex forum. Thanks for any help, Mark

Are u rooted? U need that to remove preloaded software. What OS are u running if 2.2 u can move apps to SD if there built into it.
